Overview

What is Maxun?

Maxun is a no-code platform that turns any website into a structured API or spreadsheet without writing code. We build "robots" via a point-and-click interface to automate data collection.

Maxun offers four types of robots: Extract (structured data via action recording or AI mode), Scrape (page → Markdown/HTML + screenshots), Crawl (full site exploration) and Search (automated web searches). It handles pagination, scrolling, authentication on target sites, scheduled runs, exports to Google Sheets / Airtable, automatic adaptation to layout changes, as well as MCP integration and the generation of REST APIs from robots.

Built in TypeScript, Maxun relies on PostgreSQL (data/auth), Redis (scheduling via BullMQ), MinIO (screenshot storage) and Playwright (browsing engine). It deploys via Docker Compose with JWT-based authentication. AGPLv3 license.

The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.

Do I need to know how to code to use Maxun?

No. You build your extraction robots via point-and-click: Maxun records your actions and turns a website into structured data, an API or a spreadsheet.

Do my extracted data remain private?

Yes. Your robots, screenshots and collected data are stored on your DINAO instance in France and do not pass through any third-party service.

Can I schedule and export extractions?

Yes. Maxun handles scheduled runs and exports to Google Sheets or Airtable; it can also expose your robots as a REST API and via MCP.

How does AI mode work?

You describe in natural language what you want to extract and an LLM builds the extraction. At DINAO, this mode can be connected to a self-hosted model to remain sovereign (see the sovereignty note).

Can I change plans or export my robots?

Yes. Your robots and data remain exportable, and you can upgrade or downgrade at any time — no proprietary lock-in.
