What is Matrix Conduit?
Matrix Conduit is a Matrix messaging server that is simple, fast, and reliable, written in Rust. It implements the Matrix specification with an emphasis on ease of installation and simplicity: delivered as a single binary with an embedded RocksDB database, it requires neither PostgreSQL nor an external service, significantly reducing the resources needed to run your own chat server.
End-to-end encryption is enabled by default, and any standard Matrix client — Element, FluffyChat, Cinny… — connects immediately. Conduit supports cross-signing and device verification for truly confidential conversations.
By self-hosting, you gain full ownership of message history, media, and encryption keys, while remaining federated to the global Matrix network: your teams communicate externally without ever surrendering control of their server or data.

Are my conversations truly private?
Yes. End-to-end encryption is enabled by default, and you retain ownership of the keys, history, and media on your DINAO server hosted in France. No one else can read your exchanges.
What does Matrix federation offer?
Federation allows your teams to communicate with any other server on the global Matrix network, like interoperable email — while keeping your server, data, and keys under your control.
Why Conduit over another Matrix server?
Conduit is written in Rust, lightweight, and resource-efficient, with an embedded RocksDB database (no external service to manage). It offers a robust and easy-to-operate Matrix server, ideal for SMEs.
Are technical skills required?
