Overview

What is Manyfold?

Manyfold is a self-hosted web application for organizing a collection — personal or shared — of 3D model files, with a focus on 3D printing. It is a specialized digital asset manager (DAM): you upload, browse, preview, and annotate your 3D files directly from the browser.

It handles file cataloging, 3D rendering and preview in the browser (THREE.js, server-side rendering via Mittsu), thumbnail generation (ImageMagick), file analysis (Assimp), archive support on upload, and asynchronous tasks (Sidekiq). ActivityPub federation enables decentralized sharing between instances in the Fediverse.

Built in Ruby on Rails on PostgreSQL and Redis, Manyfold deploys via Docker. It manages multi-user access with role-based access control (RBAC), SSO via OpenID Connect, and an OAuth2-authenticated REST API. AGPL-3.0 license.
