Overview

What is Mailtrain?

Mailtrain is a self-hosted email and newsletter platform built on Node.js and MySQL/MariaDB. It gives you full control over your campaigns: list management, segmentation, custom fields, large CSV file imports, and a template editor, without entrusting your subscribers to a public service.

Mailtrain handles dynamic segmentation, automations (triggers, scenarios, follow-ups), RSS-to-email conversion, and detailed tracking of opens, clicks, and bounces. For sending, it relies on your own SMTP server or a third-party relay, giving you control over your sender reputation and deliverability.

Designed for secure multi-user usage, Mailtrain isolates its endpoints (trusted, sandbox, public) to prevent XSS attacks, and exposes a REST API as well as webhooks to integrate with your tools. Deployed in a Docker container on sovereign infrastructure, it keeps your entire subscriber base safely on your instance.
