What is Loomio?
Loomio is an open-source collective decision-making platform designed to help groups, associations, businesses, and local authorities make structured and inclusive decisions together. A discussion thread can host one or more proposals, turning a debate into a clear and recorded decision.
The tool supports several governance models — consensus, consent, majority vote, and advice-seeking processes — as well as various voting tools: sense check, dot vote (points), and ranked choice voting. Discussion threads allow parallel debate alongside the decision-making process.
Loomio manages nested groups and subgroups that reflect the organization's actual structure, with fine-grained privacy controls. Licensed under AGPL-3.0, it is self-hosted via the loomio-deploy repository, ensuring controlled and sovereign governance.
