What is Livebook?
Livebook is an interactive code notebook environment for the Elixir language, comparable to Jupyter but designed for reproducibility. It allows you to combine executable code, Markdown-formatted text, and rich results (charts, tables) in a single living document.
Notebooks are saved in .livemd format, which is readable and versionable like code, ensuring the reproducibility of analyses. Thanks to Kino, you can build interactive applications (forms, dynamic tables, visualizations), and the Elixir ecosystem (Explorer, Nx, Bumblebee) opens the door to data science and AI.
Powered by the Erlang virtual machine, Livebook is robust and offers real-time collaboration, integrated secret management, and database connections. It is ideal for data exploration, automation, training, and executable technical documentation.

Do I need to know Elixir?
Livebook executes Elixir code, but many 'turnkey' notebooks are available for data and automation. A technical team will get the most out of the ecosystem (Nx, Explorer, Kino).
Can multiple people collaborate?
Yes. Livebook offers real-time collaborative editing on the same notebook, ideal for training, pair-programming, and review sessions.
Can I do AI / machine learning?
Yes. Through the Elixir ecosystem (Nx, Bumblebee), Livebook allows you to run ML/AI models, including locally, with a GPU option in the Enterprise plan.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your notebooks and analysis data never leave the territory.
