What is LibreDesk?
LibreDesk is a modern open-source self-hosted customer support software, designed as a free alternative with no per-agent billing to proprietary platforms like Zendesk or Freshdesk. It unifies email and live chat in a single omnichannel inbox, complemented by a chat widget to embed on your website.
The product automates daily operations for teams: auto-tagging, routing and auto-assignment of conversations, SLA management with timeout alerts, macros and response templates, snooze and custom statuses. It integrates CSAT satisfaction surveys, custom attributes for contacts and conversations, an activity log for auditing, and granular permissions (RBAC).
On the technical side, LibreDesk is built in Go (back-end) and Vue.js 3 (front-end), stores its data in PostgreSQL with Redis for queues and caching, and is distributed as a single binary or Docker container. It natively supports SSO via Google/Microsoft/OIDC, HTTP/JSON APIs and webhooks, and S3-compatible attachment storage.

Do I have to pay per agent like with SaaS solutions?
No. LibreDesk does not charge per seat: you can add as many agents as needed within your chosen tier. DINAO bills the managed instance, not the user.
Where are my tickets and contacts stored?
In your own PostgreSQL database hosted by DINAO in France. Your data is never transmitted to a third-party vendor or used for other purposes.
Can I connect my email and put a chat on my site?
Yes. LibreDesk unifies email and live chat in a single inbox, with a chat widget to embed on your site. Routing and auto-assignment automatically dispatch conversations.
Are SSO and connection to my tools possible?
Yes. Google, Microsoft, and generic OIDC SSO are integrated at no extra cost, and HTTP/JSON APIs + webhooks allow you to connect LibreDesk to your internal applications.
Can I export my data and change my plan?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade tiers at any time, and your data remains exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
