What is Invoice Ninja?

Invoice Ninja is an open-source suite of invoicing, quoting, and payments designed for freelancers, small businesses, and SMEs. It covers the entire sales cycle: creating customizable invoices and quotes, recurring invoices, automated reminders, time tracking, expense and project management, all in multi-currency and multi-tax mode.

For payments, Invoice Ninja integrates with numerous payment gateways and offers a client portal where your clients can view and pay their documents online. A REST API, webhooks, and a mobile app complete the tool for automation and mobile invoicing.

Self-hosted, Invoice Ninja gives you full control over your accounting data: clients, invoices, payments, and history remain on your instance, with no commission on your revenue and no dependency on a third-party service.

Does Invoice Ninja take a commission on my invoices?

No. You pay a fixed hosting fee; no commission is taken from your revenue. Only the payment gateways you choose apply their own fees.

Can my clients pay online?

Yes. The client portal allows your clients to view their invoices and pay directly via the payment gateways you enable.

Where is the data hosted?

On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your accounting data never leaves the country.

Do I need technical skills?

No for usage: the interface is ready to use. DINAO handles installation, security, and updates. Your teams just need to invoice.

Can I change plans or export my data?
