Your conferences and events, under control
The CERN's event management platform powered by Indico, installed and maintained by DINAO. From simple meetings to large-scale conferences — your data remains hosted in France.
What is Indico?
Indico is an open source and self-hostable event management system, developed at CERN for about twenty years, which is used as much for organizing simple meetings as for large scientific conferences. It covers the entire lifecycle of an event: call for abstracts with peer review, submission and revision of papers, customizable registration forms, online payment, schedule management (drag-and-drop timetable), badge and ticket printing.
It also includes a room booking module and hierarchical content management (event categories, archive of materials). Over 300 known instances use it worldwide, totaling around 350,000 users, with contributions from CERN, the UN, and the Max Planck Institute.
Technically, Indico relies on Python / Flask, the SQLAlchemy ORM, Celery asynchronous queues, a PostgreSQL database, and ReactJS components. It is extensible via plugins and deploys in Docker containers.
