What is HedgeDoc?
HedgeDoc is a collaborative Markdown and open source note editor that allows multiple people to write the same document in real time directly from the browser. Each contributor has a colored cursor and sees changes appear instantly — ideal for meeting notes, team documentation, or multi-author writing.
The editor offers a live preview side by side and enriched Markdown : tables, Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams, LaTeX formulas, syntax-highlighted code blocks, and even a presentation (slides) mode. Documents can be exported as PDF or HTML and remain in a portable text format, without vendor lock-in.
On the administration side, HedgeDoc manages per-document permissions (private, shared by link, public), several authentication methods (email, LDAP, OAuth/OIDC, SSO), and the choice of database (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, SQLite). As the community successor to CodiMD/HackMD, it is designed for self-hosting and data sovereignty.

Yes. Each note has its own permissions (private, shared by link, or public). Your content remains stored on your DINAO instance in France, never with a third-party service.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your notes do not leave the territory.
Do I need technical skills?
No. The editor is immediately usable, even without knowing Markdown thanks to the live preview. DINAO handles installation, security, and updates.
Can I change my plan or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and each note can be exported as Markdown, PDF, or HTML — no vendor lock-in.
