eXeLearning is the free authoring tool for designing interactive educational resources and exporting them to SCORM, IMS, HTML, or ePub standards. Installed and supervised by DINAO, hosted on our French servers.
What is eXeLearning?
eXeLearning is a free authoring tool designed for teachers, trainers, and instructional designers to create and publish interactive educational resources without technical skills. You assemble text, media, and activities using content blocks called iDevices, then structure everything into pages with themes and styles.
Once the content is ready, eXeLearning exports to e-learning standards : SCORM 1.2 and 2004, IMS Content Package, Common Cartridge, standalone HTML, and ePub. Resources integrate directly into an LMS like Moodle or any SCORM/IMS-compatible system. The current web version adds real-time collaborative editing, a multilingual interface, and a REST API.
Historically a desktop application, eXeLearning is now also deployed as a web version on a server. It relies on SQLite, PostgreSQL, or MySQL/MariaDB, and supports several authentication modes (password, CAS, OpenID Connect). DINAO hosts the instance in a dedicated container in France, with HTTPS, backups, and monitoring.

Do I need technical skills to create a course?
No. eXeLearning is an authoring tool: you assemble iDevices blocks (text, media, quizzes) visually, without coding, then export.
Are my courses compatible with Moodle?
Yes. eXeLearning exports to SCORM and IMS standards, importable into Moodle and any compatible LMS, as well as standalone HTML or ePub.
Do I need to install software on every device?
No. The web version runs in a browser with online collaborative editing. DINAO hosts the instance; your authors work without local installation.
Where are my educational content hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your content never leaves the territory.
What database is used?
SQLite for simple use cases, or PostgreSQL / MariaDB for higher traffic. DINAO chooses and configures the database according to your scale.
