What is Evolution API?
Evolution API is an open source messaging gateway, production-ready, exposing WhatsApp and other channels as an REST API. Built on the Baileys library, it supports both WhatsApp Web mode and the official Cloud API, enabling you to send and receive messages, media, buttons, and lists from your own applications.
Designed to integrate with the rest of your stack, Evolution API natively connects to Chatwoot, Typebot, n8n, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS), S3 / MinIO storage, and AI engines to build chatbots and customer relationship automation.
Built in Node.js / TypeScript and deployed in a container, it manages multiple simultaneous WhatsApp instances. Hosted by DINAO, the gateway and its data remain in France, on an isolated and monitored instance.

This application uses AI
The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.

What is Evolution API?

Can I connect an AI to it?
Yes. Evolution API integrates with chatbot and AI engines (OpenAI, Dify, Typebot…) to automate and qualify conversations. To remain sovereign, prioritize a local AI model hosted by DINAO.
Do my conversations stay in France?
The gateway and its message queues are hosted in France on your instance. Note: final routing passes through WhatsApp/Meta's infrastructure, inherent to the protocol.
What tools does it integrate with?
Chatwoot, Typebot, n8n, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Amazon SQS, S3/MinIO storage, and any system capable of calling a REST API or receiving webhooks.
