What is ErsatzTV?

ErsatzTV is an open source application that allows you to create your own live television channels from a personal media library. Where a standard player offers on-demand content, ErsatzTV recreates the experience of linear television: a program grid broadcast continuously, 24/7.

The application connects to your Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby servers, or directly to file folders, then lets you compose channels using blocks, playlists, schedules, and fillers. It generates an HLS stream and an M3U playlist, as well as an EPG (XMLTV) program guide, compatible with most IPTV players.

ErsatzTV relies on FFmpeg for transcoding (software or hardware via GPU) and offers customization options: bumpers, watermarks, transitions between programs, for a result close to a real channel.
