The ultra-simple file drop, hosted in France
A minimalist file drop and upload application powered by DumbDrop, installed and maintained by DINAO. Drag, drop, share — your files stay on our French servers, without complexity or heavy registration.
What is DumbDrop?
DumbDrop is a deliberately minimalist file drop and upload application — “a stupid simple file upload application”. Its clean drag-and-drop interface allows anyone to drop one or more files in seconds, without creating an account or navigating a complex interface. It also supports sending entire folders while preserving the directory structure.
Regarding configuration, you can set a size limit (1 GB by default, adjustable), filter allowed extensions, enable a dark theme and a mobile-responsive interface, and receive optional notifications via Apprise. Built with Node.js / Express and a vanilla JavaScript frontend, the application has a minimal footprint and deploys in a single Docker container.
Despite its claimed simplicity, DumbDrop includes robust protections: optional PIN code access (with constant-time comparison), rate-limiting based on IP, input sanitization, extension validation, and anti IP-spoofing protection. It’s the ideal tool for a quick and secure drop point, hosted in France by DINAO.

You might be wondering…
What is DumbDrop used for?
To receive and share files as simply as possible: a drag-and-drop drop page, with no visitor-side registration. Ideal for having clients or partners send you files in seconds.
Is it secure despite its simplicity?
Yes. DumbDrop protects access with a PIN code (constant-time comparison), applies IP-based rate-limiting, and validates extensions. IP restriction is optionally available, and the instance is dedicated.
Where are the files hosted?
On DINAO’s infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your uploaded files never leave the territory.
Can I send large files or folders?
Yes. DumbDrop handles multiple uploads and sending of entire folders while preserving their directory structure. The size limit is configurable according to your plan.
Can I change my plan or retrieve my files?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your files remain accessible and exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
