Overview

What is DB Browser for SQLite?

DB Browser for SQLite (DB4S) is a open source professional-grade tool designed to create, design, and edit SQLite database files. Designed for both users and developers who want to manipulate a database without mastering SQL commands, it offers a familiar graphical interface, similar to a spreadsheet, rather than a command-line console.

The tool allows you to create and modify databases, tables, indexes, views, and triggers, import and export tables and records from or to CSV, JSON, and SQL formats, and browse, search, filter, and sort data record by record. An integrated query editor with syntax highlighting and history allows you to run your own SQL queries and instantly view the results.

Distributed under the dual Mozilla Public License 2.0 / GPLv3, DB Browser for SQLite is widely used for data inspection, debugging applications embedding SQLite, and lightweight dataset management, without relying on a heavy database server.

FAQ

You might be wondering…

Do I need to know SQL to use it?

No. The interface allows you to create tables and edit data entirely visually. SQL remains available for advanced users who wish to write their own queries.

What import and export formats are supported?

CSV, JSON, and SQL are supported for both import and export, facilitating the migration of your existing data and its retrieval.

Where are my databases hosted?

On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your SQLite files never leave the territory.

Are my data isolated from other clients?

Yes. Each instance runs in a dedicated container with its own storage volume. There is no data sharing between clients.

Can I retrieve my files at any time?

Yes. Your SQLite databases remain exportable and downloadable without restriction — no proprietary lock-in.
