Overview

What is Convoy?

Convoy is a high-performance open-source webhook gateway designed to ingest, persist, debug, deliver, and reliably manage millions of events. It sits at the edge of your network to distribute webhooks from your microservices to your users, and route those from your providers to the correct internal services, without ever exposing them to the Internet.

Convoy acts as a dedicated webhook queue, designed for horizontal scalability: its components (API server, workers, scheduler, socket server) scale independently. It includes the critical features expected of such a component: retries, rate limiting, static IPs, circuit breaking, and secret rotation.

Regarding security and observability, Convoy signs payloads to ensure message integrity, and exposes a dashboard — including a client-facing view — where you can debug, replay events, and configure subscriptions. In case of repeated failures, the endpoint is disabled and an email or Slack notification is sent. With DINAO, everything is hosted in France, backed up, and maintained.

FAQ

You might be wondering…

What is a webhook gateway for?

It sits at the edge of your network to secure your webhooks: ingestion, persistence, signing, retries, rate limiting. You avoid rewriting this complex plumbing in every service.

Does Convoy handle incoming and outgoing webhooks?

Yes. Convoy can distribute webhooks from your microservices to your customers, and receive those from your providers to route them to the correct internal services, without ever exposing them publicly.

What happens if a client endpoint goes down?

Convoy automatically retries according to a back-off strategy, and if the endpoint fails repeatedly, it disables it and sends an email or Slack notification.

Where are my events stored?

On your DINAO instance in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your event stream and metadata do not leave the territory.

Can I change plans or export my data?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your data remains exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
