What is Convos?
Convos is a self-hostable web IRC client that runs in your browser. Its strength: a persistent server that stays connected to IRC permanently and logs all activity, allowing you to retrieve the full history of your conversations even when your browser is closed.
Designed for modern use, Convos is multi-user and offers features often missing from classic IRC: video chat for individuals and groups via WebRTC, rich formatting, emojis and online media display, archive search, customizable themes and responsive design.
Technically, Convos relies on Perl and the Mojolicious framework, with a Svelte frontend. Storage is file-based by default: no external database is required, making it a lightweight application, easy to operate and back up.
