What is Convex?
Convex is an open source reactive backend platform that brings together, in a single product, a transactional database, server functions, and a real-time sync layer. Its distinctive feature: queries are reactive — as soon as data changes, they recalculate and the connected client interface updates automatically, without needing to write any WebSocket or polling code.
Everything is programmed in TypeScript, from the backend to the client, with end-to-end typing. The platform offers queries, mutations, and actions functions, file storage, scheduled tasks and cron jobs, as well as integrated full-text and vector search. Reactive clients are provided for React, Vue, Svelte, and mobile.
In the version managed by DINAO, the open source Convex engine runs on our French infrastructure: you benefit from the productivity of a real-time all-in-one backend, while keeping your application data on French territory and exportable, without proprietary lock-in.
