What is CiviCRM?
CiviCRM is an open source contact relationship management platform, designed from the ground up for associations, NGOs, federations and non-profit organizations. Where commercial CRMs focus on clients and opportunities, CiviCRM focuses on members, donors, volunteers and board members, with dedicated modules for fundraising, membership fees and activist engagement.
The solution brings together in a single tool the contact database (individuals, organizations, households and their relationships), donation and membership management with automatic generation of compliant tax receipts, event organization with online registration and ticketing, as well as mass emailing via CiviMail and campaign tracking. All interaction history is consolidated on each contact record.
CiviCRM integrates with major CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, Backdrop) to expose donation forms and member areas on your own website, and extends via a rich library of extensions and a REST API. It is the reference tool for the nonprofit world to structure your community without relying on a proprietary service billed per contact.

What happens if we want to leave?
Your data remains exportable at any time (CSV, SQL database). CiviCRM is open source: no proprietary lock-in, you retain full control of your database.
