Your structured and sovereign documentation
A clear documentation base powered by BookStack, installed and maintained by DINAO. Your organized procedures in books and chapters remain on our servers in France — simply and with full confidentiality.
What is BookStack?
BookStack is an self-hosted, simple, and easy-to-use platform for organizing and storing information. This open-source wiki, developed in PHP with the Laravel framework, relies on a clear and intuitive content organization into three levels: books, chapters, and pages.
It offers a WYSIWYG visual editor (as well as a Markdown mode with live preview), full-text search with paragraph-level links, diagram drawing via integrated diagrams.net, revision history, and a role-based permission system. Authentication supports OIDC, SAML2, LDAP, social logins, and two-factor authentication (TOTP).
Free and published under the MIT license, BookStack runs on a simple VPS and prioritizes ease of use. Available in French and many other languages, it constitutes for DINAO a sovereign and accessible alternative to solutions like Confluence for internal documentation.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
How does BookStack differ from a classic wiki?
BookStack focuses on simplicity and a visual structure of shelves, books, chapters, and pages. It is ideal for procedures, manuals, and guides that are easy to navigate, with no learning curve.
Can I finely manage who sees what?
Yes. BookStack offers granular roles and permissions per shelf, book, or page, allowing you to compartmentalize documentation according to teams or confidentiality levels.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your manuals and procedures never leave the territory.
Are technical skills required?
No for usage: the interface is simple and intuitive. DINAO manages installation, security, and updates. A technical team can still use the API and SSO.
Can I change plans or export my data?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your content remains exportable (PDF, HTML, Markdown) — no proprietary lock-in.
