Ozone is the official moderation tool for the atproto protocol that powers the Bluesky social network. It is a web application that communicates directly with a labeling service and allows a team of moderators or curators to collaborate : review reports, create labels, and inspect content circulating on the network.

Ozone fits into Bluesky's so-called stackable moderation approach: anyone can operate their own independent moderation service, with their own rules and labels, which users then choose to subscribe to. This is a paradigm shift compared to the centralized moderation of traditional platforms.

Published as open source by Bluesky Social PBC, Ozone is designed to be self-hosted by independent third parties : communities, organizations, or businesses that wish to apply their own moderation policies on the atproto network.
