What is Bigcapital?

Bigcapital is an open-source accounting and inventory management software, designed as an alternative to commercial solutions such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Wave. It is aimed at small and medium-sized businesses that want to centralize their finances and automate their accounting processes.

The platform is based on a true double-entry accounting system and generates financial statements for decision-making. It covers invoicing and payment tracking, expense and supplier invoice management, as well as inventory management.

Bigcapital offers both a user interface for manual entry and a complete headless REST API for integration with existing business systems. Available under the AGPL-3.0 license, it can be self-hosted via Docker, making it a solid choice for companies wishing to control their financial data.
