What is Baikal?
Baïkal is a lightweight CalDAV and CardDAV server that hosts your calendars and address books and synchronizes them via open standards. It offers a complete web interface to easily manage users, calendars, and contacts.
Fast and simple to install, Baïkal requires only a basic PHP server and stores data in a MySQL or SQLite database. Its minimal footprint makes it an ideal solution for taking back control of your personal or team organization, without relying on the calendar and contact services of American tech giants.
Baïkal is built on sabre/dav, the reference WebDAV/CalDAV/CardDAV framework for PHP. It is compatible with most market clients — iOS, macOS, Android (via DAVx⁵), Thunderbird — to synchronize appointments and contacts across all your devices.

Do I need technical skills?
No. The web interface allows you to easily manage users, calendars, and address books. DINAO handles installation, security, and updates. You just need to configure your devices.
Can I share calendars?
Yes. Baïkal allows you to create multiple calendars and address books per user and share them, which is useful for coordinating a team or family while keeping control of your data.
