What is Authentik?
authentik is an open source, self-hosted identity provider (Identity Provider) designed to centralize authentication and identity management for all your applications. It gives you control over your identity needs through a secure and flexible solution, without relying on a third-party cloud service.
It supports major market protocols — OAuth2 / OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, LDAP, SCIM and RADIUS — as well as multi-factor authentication (MFA), passkeys/WebAuthn, conditional access policies, and an application proxy to secure applications lacking native authentication. Login flows are fully customizable via policies and an API.
authentik is aimed at organizations that want to implement single sign-on (SSO), adopt a zero trust approach, manage customer identities (B2C), or integrate legacy applications, while retaining control over their sensitive identity data.

Which applications can I connect?
Any application compatible with OIDC, SAML, or LDAP, as well as any web application via the authentication proxy. This covers most SaaS tools and your internal applications.
Does Authentik replace Active Directory or Azure AD?
It can act as a central identity provider, or federate with your existing directory (AD, Azure AD, Google). This allows you to keep your identities in France while reusing your accounts.
Where are the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your identities and access logs never leave the country.
Are technical skills required?
For daily use, no: your users benefit from a simple login screen. Application configuration is handled by an administrator; DINAO installs, secures, and supports you during integrations.
Can I enable two-factor authentication for everyone?
Yes. Authentik supports TOTP, WebAuthn/Passkeys, SMS, and email, with policies that enforce MFA based on group, application, or risk level.
