What is ArchivesSpace?
ArchivesSpace is an open-source archival management application, designed by and for archivists. It allows you to manage and provide online access to an institution's archives, manuscripts, and digital objects.
The application covers the entire archival workflow: fund description, authority records, subject and place management, and the creation and publication of finding aids, all compliant with major domain standards (EAD, EAC-CPF, MARCXML). It features a professional interface for daily processing and a public interface for user consultation, with full-text search.
Supported by a large community of users, developers, and administrators, ArchivesSpace is developed collaboratively and funded by its member institutions. It is aimed at archive services, libraries, and universities looking to better manage and showcase their collections.

Who is ArchivesSpace for?
Archive services, libraries, universities, and heritage institutions that need to describe and manage archival funds, manuscripts, and digital objects, and then provide online access to them. It was designed by and for archivists.
Which archival standards are supported?
ArchivesSpace handles reference standards such as EAD, EAC-CPF, and MARCXML, with bulk import and export to remain interoperable with your other documentary systems.
Where are the data hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your inventories and digital objects do not leave the territory.
Are technical skills required?
No for business use: the interface is designed for archivists. DINAO handles installation, search indexing, security, and updates. A technical team can leverage the REST API.
Can I publish my finding aids?
Yes. ArchivesSpace offers a public consultation interface that allows you to publish your finding aids online, with full-text search for your users.
