What is Apache Pinot?
Apache Pinot is an open-source distributed OLAP database, designed for real-time analytics focused on users and agents. It delivers sub-second queries on fresh data at petabyte scale and with very high throughput (thousands of queries per second).
Pinot ingests both real-time streams (Apache Kafka and streaming sources) and batch data (Amazon S3, Hadoop HDFS, Google Cloud Storage, Azure ADLS). Thanks to its advanced indexes (inverted, star, range, text) and upsert management, it maintains consistent performance regardless of cluster size and expected throughput.
Originally developed by LinkedIn and Uber engineers to power interactive applications like "Who viewed my profile" or the UberEats restaurant manager, Pinot is designed for any organization that needs to expose real-time analytics to its end users, with controlled latency and data freshness.

How does Pinot ingest data?
In real-time from streams like Apache Kafka, and/or in batch from object storage (S3, HDFS, GCS). Ingested data becomes queryable almost immediately.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your analytics data never leaves the country.
Do I need technical skills?
Yes, for schema design and ingestion sources: Pinot is aimed at data teams. DINAO manages installation, cluster tuning, updates, and monitoring to relieve you of operations.
Does Pinot replace my data warehouse?
