Unify and govern your metadata, in France
Centralize the catalog of all your data sources with Apache Gravitino, installed and maintained by DINAO. Your metadata and access rules remain on our French servers — under your control.
What is Apache Gravitino?
Apache Gravitino is a high-performance, geo-distributed, and federated « metadata lake »: a unified data catalog that manages metadata and access controls across heterogeneous sources, while supporting multiple query engines.
Gravitino abstracts metadata from relational databases (Hive, MySQL, PostgreSQL), file systems (HDFS, S3), and event streams into unified models and APIs. Rather than simply collecting this metadata, it directly manages the systems via connectors, ensuring bidirectional synchronization of changes.
It offers end-to-end governance (access control, audit, discovery), multi-engine support (Trino today, Spark and Flink coming soon), and geographic distribution allowing multiple regional instances to share metadata. It is designed for organizations managing complex multi-cloud data environments.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
What is Apache Gravitino used for?
It is a unified metadata catalog and governance tool: it brings together databases, file systems, and event streams under a common model and API, with access control and audit capabilities.
What sources and engines are supported?
Hive, MySQL, PostgreSQL, HDFS, S3, and event streams on the source side; Trino for queries, with Spark and Flink planned. AI asset management is in development.
Where are the data hosted?
On DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your metadata never leaves the territory.
Are technical skills required?
Yes, this is a tool designed for data teams and engineers. DINAO handles installation and operations; your data engineers configure the connectors and access policies.
Can I migrate or export my configuration?
Yes. Gravitino is open-source (Apache 2.0) and your catalog remains portable — no vendor lock-in.
