What is 2FAuth?
2FAuth is a self-hosted web application designed to manage your two-factor authentication accounts and generate their security codes. It is a web-based alternative to mobile apps like Google Authenticator: from a modern interface accessible via any browser, it generates TOTP, HOTP and Steam Guard codes, without having to pull out your phone every time you log in.
The tool offers universal import from Google Authenticator QR codes, Aegis Auth JSON files, 2FAS exports, and other sources: you don't lose any accounts when switching platforms. You can also log in using a security key (Yubikey, Titan) and disable the standard login form.
Regarding security, sensitive data stored in the database can be encrypted to protect it in case of a breach. 2FAuth generates its codes in compliance with RFC 4226 and RFC 6238 standards and remains fully open-source: no subscription, no cloud dependency, no feature restrictions.
