What is Friendica?
Friendica is an open-source decentralized social network platform designed to give communities control over their interactions. Unlike centralized networks, each Friendica instance is autonomous yet federated: it communicates with other servers through open protocols, primarily ActivityPub.
This federation allows your members to interact beyond platform boundaries: they can follow and converse with Mastodon, Pleroma, Peertube, and many other accounts, as if it were one large network. Friendica also supports complementary protocols (diaspora*, OStatus) for maximum compatibility.
Feature-rich, Friendica offers a news feed, groups, events, private messaging, and fine-grained privacy management at the post level. With no advertising or profiling, and hosted in France by DINAO, it constitutes an ideal sovereign social space for an association, business, or community.
