Monitor your applications without sending your data abroad
Uptrace is an OpenTelemetry-native observability platform that brings traces, metrics, and logs together in one place. The sovereign alternative to Datadog or New Relic, hosted in France by DINAO — your telemetry stays with you.
What is Uptrace?
Uptrace is an open source observability and APM platform, OpenTelemetry-native. It ingests the three pillars of observability — distributed traces, metrics, and logs — via the OTLP protocol, and correlates them to help you understand exactly what is happening in your applications.
Practically, Uptrace tracks each request across your microservices with flame graphs and a dependency map, exposes PromQL-compatible metrics along with many pre-built dashboards, and offers full-text search on structured logs, automatically linked to corresponding traces and metrics.
On the technical side, the platform receives data via OTLP from any OpenTelemetry SDK (Go, Python, Node.js, Java, .NET…), stores time-series telemetry in ClickHouse and metadata in PostgreSQL. Self-hostable without feature limits, Uptrace is the sovereign alternative to observability SaaS: you fully own your data.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
What is an OpenTelemetry-native platform?
Uptrace directly ingests telemetry in OTLP format emitted by OpenTelemetry SDKs, without proprietary agents. Any application instrumented with OpenTelemetry (Go, Python, Node.js, Java, .NET…) sends its data without additional configuration.
What can I monitor with Uptrace?
The three pillars of observability: traces (tracking a request across your services), metrics (p99 latency, error rate, CPU…) and logs, all correlated to quickly identify the cause of an incident.
Is it an alternative to Datadog or New Relic?
Yes, it is an open source and self-hosted alternative. You keep key features (APM, dashboards, alerts) while hosting your telemetry with you, in France, with no event-based billing.
Where are my production data stored?
On DINAO infrastructure in France. Your traces, metrics, and logs never leave the country — a key point when telemetry contains sensitive data.
How does Uptrace store so much data?
Time-series telemetry is stored in ClickHouse (highly performant for large volumes) and metadata in PostgreSQL. DINAO sizes storage and retention according to your tier.
