What is Silex?
Silex is a free no-code website builder (AGPL), published by the Silex Labs association, described as the « Webflow of static web ». It combines a drag-and-drop editor based on GrapesJS with static site generation via 11ty, to visually create fast, accessible, SEO-optimized and eco-friendly sites.
Its strength: zero lock-in. Silex exports standard HTML/CSS/JS code, compliant and hostable wherever you want. No subscription, no proprietary format: the tool is 100% free and open-source, and you remain in control of your sites.
Silex also allows you to design with real data by connecting to headless CMSs (WordPress, Strapi, Squidex…), for static sites fed with dynamic content. Ideal for agencies, freelancers and marketing teams who want to produce client sites visually, while retaining technical control over the result.
