Your comics library, hosted in France
The Sonarr / Radarr of your comics powered by Mylar3, installed and maintained by DINAO. Your watchlist and comic library remain on our French servers — automatically organized.
What is Mylar3?
Mylar3 is the Python 3 version of an automated downloader and manager for comics in cbr/cbz format. Its core principle is the watchlist: you add series to monitor, and Mylar3 continuously scans sources to fetch, sort, rename, and automatically organize issues as they are published. It is, for comics, the equivalent of what Sonarr/Radarr do for TV series and movies.
The application relies on the ComicVine API to accurately identify series, issues, and metadata (covers, release dates, publishers). It manages tracking of weekly pull-lists (weekly releases), allowing you to view upcoming issues up to four weeks in advance, as well as story arcs, Trade Paperbacks (TPB), and Graphic Novels (GN).
Regarding acquisition, Mylar3 does not download files itself: it drives third-party clients. It interfaces with SABnzbd and NZBGet for Usenet, with torrent clients, Newznab indexers, and direct download. After retrieval, post-processing renames files, tags metadata (ComicTagger), generates series.json for Komga or Kavita, and identifies missing issues.
Technically, Mylar3 is a lightweight Python 3 application with a SQLite database, which runs on a NAS, a Raspberry Pi, or in a Docker container. The web interface is exposed by default on port 8090. Target audience: collectors and readers managing a substantial digital library.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
What is Mylar3 exactly for?
Mylar3 is the Sonarr/Radarr equivalent for comics: you add comic series to monitor (watchlist), and it fetches, sorts, renames, and automatically organizes each new issue as they are published.
Is the ComicVine API key mandatory?
Yes. Without a ComicVine API key, features are very limited: it is what allows accurate identification of series, issues, and metadata. DINAO assists you in its configuration.
Does Mylar3 download files directly?
No. It orchestrates third-party clients: SABnzbd or NZBGet for Usenet, torrent clients, Newznab indexers, or direct download. Mylar3 drives, identifies, tags, and organizes.
Can I use it with Komga or Kavita?
Yes. After post-processing, Mylar3 tags metadata and generates series.json files usable by other readers like Komga or Kavita, for a perfectly organized library.
How to size the storage?
The main factor is the size of your collection (cbr/cbz files), which can be substantial. We offer scalable storage tiers depending on the volume of your library.
