What is Matrix Synapse?
Matrix Synapse is the reference implementation of a messaging server for the open Matrix protocol. It provides your organization with a modern chat — rooms, threads, reactions, file sharing, and audio/video calls — with end-to-end encryption for sensitive conversations.
Unlike proprietary messaging platforms, Matrix is decentralized and federated: your server can communicate with other Matrix servers and connect to other messaging platforms via bridges, while remaining sovereign. The Element web client, along with mobile and desktop apps, offers a complete and familiar experience.
Designed for enterprise, Synapse supports SSO / OIDC / LDAP authentication, account provisioning, bots, and an automation API. For large communities, its workers architecture enables scalability. Deployed on sovereign infrastructure, it keeps all your exchanges secure on your French instance.
