What is Manticore Search?
Manticore Search is an open-source database dedicated to search and analytics, created in 2017 as a continuation of Sphinx Search. Multi-storage and high-performance, it offers ultra-fast full-text search, real-time indexing, vector search, and columnar storage for very large datasets.
For full-text, Manticore offers more than 20 operators and over 20 ranking factors, stemming, lemmatization, synonyms, Chinese segmentation, highlighting, and plugin-based tokenization. Its hybrid search combines text and vector retrieval in a single query for better relevance, ideal for semantic and AI use cases.
Designed for easy integration, Manticore is queried via SQL (MySQL protocol) or through an HTTP API, reads data from MySQL, Postgres, MSSQL, CSV, XML, and other sources, and integrates with Logstash, Grafana, or Apache Superset. It is a drop-in for the “E” in the ELK stack and a sovereign alternative to Elasticsearch, Algolia, and AWS Kendra.

This application uses AI
The container hosts the application, not the AI engine (which requires dedicated GPUs) : inference is handled externally, with your own provider key. Prioritize a sovereign engine — Mistral AI, NumSpot, Scaleway, or OVHcloud AI Endpoints (France, GDPR) ; an international provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) only if a specific capability requires it. Inference subscriptions are not included in hosting.

How do I query the engine from my application?

Where are my indexed data hosted?
On DINAO’s infrastructure in France, in an isolated container. Your indexes and documents never leave the territory and are not transmitted to any third party.
Are technical skills required?
Manticore integration is handled on the application side by your technical team (indexing and queries). DINAO manages the installation, security, monitoring, and updates of the instance.
