What is Jelly-Clipper?

Jelly-Clipper is a web companion application for Jellyfin that allows you to easily create and share video clips from your Jellyfin media library. Instead of sending an entire movie to show a specific scene, you select the desired segment and get a short clip, accessible via a dedicated link.

The tool connects to your existing Jellyfin server and relies on FFmpeg for encoding clips. Created clips are stored permanently, while source files are only accessed temporarily. Jelly-Clipper can even be mounted directly on your Jellyfin media folder, avoiding file duplication and speeding up processing.

Designed for simple deployment in Docker, alongside Jellyfin, it integrates naturally into a self-hosted media environment. At DINAO, it becomes a managed service in France: your media and clips remain on your infrastructure, and operations are fully handled.

Do I need to have a Jellyfin server already?

Yes. Jelly-Clipper is a Jellyfin companion: it connects to your existing media server to extract clips. DINAO can also host your Jellyfin if needed.

How is a clip created?

You browse your Jellyfin library from Jelly-Clipper, choose the desired segment (start and end), and the application generates a clip ready to share via a dedicated link.

Are the original files duplicated?

Clips are stored permanently, while original files are only handled temporarily. Jelly-Clipper can also be mounted directly on your Jellyfin media folder to avoid unnecessary copies.

Can I restrict sharing access?
