Your site and blog, sovereign
A modern and extensible CMS powered by Halo, installed and maintained by DINAO. Blog, knowledge base, or showcase site — your content remains hosted in France.
What is Halo?
Halo is a powerful and versatile open source website creation tool that covers both personal blogs and knowledge bases, as well as corporate showcase sites or online stores. It offers a modern content editor (Markdown and rich text), media and attachment management, a native commenting system, and multi-user management with roles and permissions.
Its extensible architecture relies on an ecosystem of themes and plugins installable via an integrated App Store, and it exposes a complete REST API for integrations and custom development. Scheduled publishing and fine-grained content management make it a comprehensive editorial engine.
On the technical side, Halo is built on Java / Spring Boot, features an administration console in Vue, and runs by default with the embedded H2 database or with MySQL / PostgreSQL in production. Deployment is done via Docker containers.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
Is Halo free?
Halo's core is open source (GPL-3.0). Commercial editions add optional features, but the instance deployed by DINAO is based on the free and complete version.
Which database should I use?
Halo starts without configuration thanks to the embedded H2 database. For high-traffic sites, DINAO switches to MySQL or PostgreSQL for better performance.
Can I customize the appearance?
Yes. Halo has a rich ecosystem of themes and an integrated App Store: themes and plugins are installed in a few clicks, without modifying the source code.
What type of site is Halo suitable for?
Personal blog, knowledge base, corporate showcase site, or even a store: Halo is a versatile engine that adapts to most editorial projects.
Is my content exportable?
Yes. Halo exposes a complete REST API and remains an open source project: your content remains portable, without vendor lock-in.
