What is ezBookKeeping?
ezBookKeeping is a lightweight, open-source, self-hosted personal finance application with a user-friendly interface and comprehensive accounting features. Built in Golang and Vue.js and released under the MIT license, it runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, including ARM architectures, with minimal memory and disk footprint.
It offers two-level accounts and categories, scheduled transactions, image attachments, map-based location tracking, and an AI-assisted receipt recognition feature (with MCP support). The interface is optimized for both mobile and desktop, installable as a PWA, and includes a dark mode.
On the technical side, ezBookKeeping supports SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL databases, deploys via Docker, and starts in about one second, even on a small server. The project collects no data: everything remains on the server you deploy, making it a truly sovereign financial management solution.
