What is DHIS2?

DHIS2 (District Health Information Software 2) is the world's most widely used open-source health information management platform. Developed by the University of Oslo, it is deployed in many countries for the collection, aggregation, and analysis of public health data, but also serves for program monitoring in education, logistics, or environmental sectors.

The platform covers the entire data lifecycle: collection (aggregated entry, forms, Tracker module for individual follow-up, Android mobile app with offline mode), validation via business rules, then analysis through dashboards, cross-tabulations, charts, and GIS mapping. Everything relies on a hierarchy of organizational units representing the field (sites, districts, regions).
