Overview

What is Deluge?

Deluge is a free, comprehensive, and cross-platform BitTorrent client. Its unique feature is its daemon / client architecture: a daemon manages downloads in the background on the server, while multiple interfaces (Web, GTK desktop, console) connect to it for control, including remotely. It is the ideal tool for a seedbox or dedicated server usage.

Its networking engine relies on libtorrent, a C++ library renowned for its reliability and performance, accessed via Python bindings. Deluge is designed to be lightweight and resource-efficient: it suits both small servers and larger infrastructures, with load depending mainly on the number of active torrents and disk I/O.

Rich in plugins (RSS feeds, tags, bandwidth scheduling, automatic file moving…), Deluge secures remote access through authentication and supports BitTorrent protocol encryption. An RPC API allows you to automate it from your own scripts and tools.

Why host Deluge instead of installing it on my PC?

The daemon runs 24/7 on our servers: your torrents continue even when your computer is off, on a fast server connection, without saturating your home bandwidth. You control everything from a simple browser.

Is access secure?

Yes. The web interface and remote daemon access are protected by authentication over HTTPS, and BitTorrent protocol encryption is supported. IP restriction is available as an option.

Where are the data hosted?

On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your files never leave the territory.

Am I responsible for the downloaded content?

Yes. You are solely responsible for the legality of the content you download and share. DINAO provides the tool and hosting, in accordance with its terms of use.

Can I change plans or retrieve my files?

Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time, and your files remain accessible and exportable — no proprietary lock-in.
