What is Chevereto?

Chevereto is a mature open-source and self-hosted solution for building private image and video sharing platforms. Described as the "proven and reference media hosting solution since 2007", it allows you to create your own service like Imgur or Flickr, but entirely under your control.

It supports images, videos, categories, tags, and albums, multi-user accounts with profiles, two-factor authentication and role management, as well as multi-tenant capabilities to host multiple independent sites. Over 30 languages, advanced privacy controls, and a responsive, customizable interface complete the offering.

In terms of performance, Chevereto includes CDN support and caching, as well as an extensive API for customization and third-party integrations. Built on a PHP stack with MySQL/MariaDB (and optional Redis), it installs via Docker and remains lightweight on server resources.
