What is Anki Sync Server Enhanced?
Anki Sync Server Enhanced is a production-ready Docker image of the self-hosted synchronization server for Anki, the famous spaced repetition revision software. Built from the official Anki source code, it allows you to sync your card decks and progress on your own server rather than on AnkiWeb.
The project adds to the official server features expected by self-hosters: multi-user support, daily updates following the latest Anki versions, healthchecks, secret management, multi-architecture builds (amd64, arm64, arm/v7), as well as a web dashboard and monitoring.
Designed for reliability, it integrates enterprise features: backups (with sending to S3/MinIO), Prometheus metrics, alerts (Discord, Telegram, Slack, email) and fail2ban integration. It is an ideal base for offering private and controlled Anki synchronization to a family, a class or a team.

How is this different from AnkiWeb?
AnkiWeb is the free synchronization service hosted by Anki. Here, you have your own synchronization server: your collections, media and statistics remain on DINAO's infrastructure in France, and you control the accounts.
Which Anki clients are compatible?
Anki desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux) as well as AnkiMobile and AnkiDroid. You just need to enter the URL of your personal synchronization server in the application settings.
Where is the data hosted?
On DINAO's infrastructure in France, in one of the available datacenters. Your card decks and progress do not leave the territory.
Do I need technical skills?
No. DINAO deploys the Docker image, configures HTTPS, backups and monitoring. You just have to point your Anki applications to the provided URL.
Does the server follow new Anki versions?
Yes. The image is built from the official Anki source with daily builds following the latest versions; DINAO applies updates to maintain compatibility with clients.
