Your team wiki, versioned and in France
A minimalist wiki in Markdown and Git powered by An Otter Wiki, installed and maintained by DINAO. All your documentation and its history remain on our French servers — never in a third-party cloud wiki.
What is An Otter Wiki?
An Otter Wiki is a minimalist wiki powered by Python, Markdown, and Git. Built with the Flask micro-framework, it stores all its content in a Git repository, which keeps track of all changes: every page has a complete history and a changelog.
The interface is deliberately clean, with dark mode support, and relies on Halfmoon for styling and CodeMirror for editing. Markdown is extended here: tables, footnotes, formatted blocks and alerts, as well as Mermaid diagrams, allow you to produce rich documentation while keeping it simple.
Designed for collaborative content management, An Otter Wiki installs easily via Docker. It is an ideal choice for teams that want a lightweight, elegant, and fully versioned documentation base, without the heaviness of traditional wikis.

Technical details
You might be wondering…
Why a Git-based wiki?
An Otter Wiki stores all content in a Git repository, ensuring complete change tracking: history for each page, changelog, and the ability to roll back. Your content remains in standard Markdown files, easy to retrieve.
Is the editor rich despite its simplicity?
Yes. The interface is minimalist and offers dark mode, but Markdown is extended: tables, footnotes, styled blocks and alerts, and Mermaid diagrams are supported.
Where is the data hosted?
On the DINAO infrastructure in France, in one of the available data centers. Your pages and their history never leave the territory.
Do technical skills are required?
No for writing: editing is done in Markdown in the browser. DINAO handles Docker deployment, security, and updates. Git knowledge is not required for contributors.
Can I export the entire wiki?
Yes. Since the content lives in a Git repository, you can export it entirely at any time, without proprietary lock-in.
